Reed flutes

A flute from India formed out of a single piece of reed. According to tradition, the reed flute only has six holes and is thus played in the same way as the tin-whistle.
A good alternative to the tin-whistle with a warmer and mellower sound.
The large flutes with a low tone are a particularly good alternative to the low-whistle. The reed flute is available both in a recorder style and as a flute, held horizontally.
We offering followings intonations:
high notes in Sol, Fa#, Fa, Mi, Re#, Re, Do#, Do, Si und Sib
low notes in La, Sol#, Sol, Fa und Mi.
As travers flute in low Re.

You hold the flute on the lower end with ring-finger and little-finger. Forefinger, middle finger and thumb play on the three holes.
You can play the differnt notes with different pressure of breath.
If you close all holes you can play four different notes by different pressure:

2. overtone, quint
3. overtone, 2. Ooctave.
The notes inbetween for playing an octave you have different fingerings.

Because you play the flute just with one hand, you can use the other hand for playing a drum.
This was used in medieval and renaissance, as it is shown in many pictures.

Overtone-flutes

The Overtone-flutes have a mouthpiece like a recorder, but no holes for the fingers.
different notes are played by different pressure of breath.
So you can play different overnotes of teh base note.
Even you can change the note by closing the tube. So you can play trills.
We offer the overtone-flutes in 4 different tunes: Fa, Re, Do and Sol.
The biggest flute in Sol with ca. 80 cm length needs a long arm..

Nose-flute

An extraordinary flute, trditional from Indonesia.
You don't blow this flute with the mouth but with the nose.
Even you play the notes not with fingers, but by changing the opening of the mouth like at the jew-harp.

These nose-flutes are made from pine-wood and finished with linseed.

Nose-flutes
How to play:
You keep the nose-flute in front of your face, that the round hole is under your nose and the half-moon hole in front of your mouth.
The nose blows in to the hole and the mouth is opened on the half-moon hole.
With changing of the opening of the mouth you can play different notes.
