Psalterium

 

The Psalterium is an ancient string instrument.
Evenit is called in the bibel.
Often you can find figures at cathedrals with a triangular string instrument.
Originally played like a harp.
So every note has a string.

Since nearly 150 years, it is used to play it with a bow.
Because the tiangular it is possible every string to play on the site with a bow..

On one site are the full notes of the scale on the other site are the half-notes..
So it is a chromatically instrument.
The instrument has a spheric harmonious sound with a lot of resonanz.

The sopran-psalterium has 1 1/2 Octaves from C to G.
The alto-psalterium has 2 Octaves from G to G.

The tenor-psalterium has 2 1/2 Octaves from C to G
With bow, tuning-key, colophpnium and a bag..
